Music Video Monday
For installment #3 of Music Video Monday, I’m taking the opportunity to show you all something very cool. The video is Shelly Moore Band’s “Jesus, I am Resting”, which was shot and edited by Wes Latta (who does some amazing things with video!)
I should mention that I say “Shelly Moore Band’s” when what I really mean is “our”. I’ve had the privilege of traveling/writing/recording with Shelly for the last several years. This is our first video to ever be “edited”.
Here are a few reasons why this video is awesome: *wink wink*
- It was shot live. with 1 camera. just 1.
- If you look hard enough, you can find Pat who plays with every band in Raleigh (and is seriously the coolest guy you know), James who has more guitars and pedals than he knows what to do with (so he loans pedals to me), and Dale who played with some killer bands (and has become a professional marathon runner. All of these guys have great blogs that you should be reading.
- Wes managed to edit live sound with studio sound. Thank you click track.
- Not only is this SMB‘s video debut, it is also my electric guitar playing debut. 2 for 1 is always good right?
“Jesus, I am Resting” was one of our favorite songs to track on our new EP “A Hymn Project“ Hope you enjoy!
* thanks to Shelly for making the cool banner! She also designed the CD cover for “a Hymn Project“

here’s a suggestion for a future version of Music Video Monday. I”m not gonna give any hints – you’re just going to have to watch it and decide for yourself how cool music making was back then…..
