Music Video Monday

Today’s video for Music Video Monday comes from Chris.  Chris is qualified to send in videos for two main reasons:

  1. He has big hair. (that rivals the lead singer’s hair in this video)
  2. He wears his bass nice and low and takes the rocker stance when playing.
  3. He can eat his weight in Buffalo wings.

Here’s a brief list of reasons that today’s video makes the cut on Music Video Monday:

  • The woodblock shows a great deal of “road wear”.  The block has been through the wringer, making clear that the block is a central piece to the band’s arrangements.
  • The lead singer plays guitar AND cowbell. It’s a deadly combination…
  • Powerdot drum heads. top and bottoms.  Can we get more baffling? duct tape maybe?
  • Excessive use of microphone windscreens.
  • I’m not sure that much needs to be said about the bass player. Mustache. Afro. Percussionist.

What else did I leave out?

Enjoy…

not to mention that the guitar player, who is the lead singer is not only playing cowbell, but playing his slide guitar with a drum stick in his hand – c’mon James and Pat – impress me – it ain’t nothing if you don’t play guitar with a drum stick in your hand!!

Well, I guess they did it. Cowbell or not. Let’s get some Deep Purple on here!

Probably doesn’t rate posting. But has the Hammond B3, the bored guitar player, and a drug-wasted singer. Playing to a California crowd. Turn it up to 11.

Check out the “Lay Down Stay Down” video also. A more frenetic drumming I have never seen.
