back in Raleigh // back and forth

We drove all night, just to get to you. (Any Celine Dion fans?…I think my stats/cool points are dropping, and I need to turn in my ManCard). The studio was a blast. It always is. I love getting in a room with talented people, good songs, good coffee (more on this in a sec) and seeing what happens. I think there is so much potential in the “On The Incarnation” project that we just recorded. I wish I could let you hear it, but it is just not ready. But soon.
Daniel did a great job of putting together a meditation on the incarnation in these songs. We were all amazed at how much the Incarnation pushed us towards the Second Coming. There is a song on the project that just brings out a longing and “heartsickness” for Christ’s return. I can’t wait for all of the songs to do the same in you.
Springfield Highlights:
We collectively drank about 75 cups of coffee between the 5 of us…in a 6-7 day period. Do the math. The answer comes to: Not healthy.
We collectively slept about 9 hours. Not true, but today it sure feels like it. We worked in the studio from 3:00pm – 5:00am. We would fall into bed just as the sun was coming up. I still think my body is on that schedule.
I had the chance to hang out with some great people from Second Baptist Church in Battlefield, MO on Sunday. One of the college kids took the Fuddruckers challenge. 2 lbs of hamburger meat (2 patties, 3 buns). 15oz french fries. milkshake. He had to eat it all in 30 minutes. After a valiant effort, he gave up. The real loser was his Sunday afternoon.
Really enjoyed meeting and hanging with Jeremy and Elsie. They both do amazing work.
Daniel, for some reason, forgot how to drive (and spell our last names) on this trip. He ran FOUR red lights with me in the car, and almost ran several others. It’s P A S S A R O and C H I L D S. Also, GREEN means GO. RED means STOP. STOP. STOP.
Also, today began my detox from coffee. I had far too many coffi on this past trip and I need to get back to the marathon & p90x training. A dead car battery this morning had me wishing for “a starbucks” though, so we’ll see how long I can hold out.
