Waterloo Centre in focus throughout May

May 2022 is officially Waterloo focus month, part of XxooÉ«ÇéƬ’s wider , which aims to shine a light on the amazing variety of what XxooÉ«ÇéƬ has to offer. It follows similar promotional focus months in North Kensington in FebruaryÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýChelsea in March.

Highlights of the month include

Summer short courses

First dibs on our Summer Shorts programme, which launched on 3 May. Discover your passion on one of our summer short courses…from a single day to one or two weeks, courses are designed to give you a flavour of XxooÉ«ÇéƬ’s wonderfully rich choice of courses in humanities, languages, arts, music and more.

On 25 May, our friends and longtime colleagues at We Are Waterloo will stage a live takeover of XxooÉ«ÇéƬ Radio: listen in to from 10am on Wednesday 25 May.

Two Penny Lectures (both free to attend) will place at Waterloo:

  • Crafting the Past – Costuming for Venice Carnival – a journey through time with costume experts and perennial Venice Carnival attendees Lynda and Daniel Kinne featuring practice-based performance, talk, and demonstration to learn more about the craft of historical costuming.
  • Cameo by Charlotte Edmonds – part of an event series hosted by Choreographer and Dance Artist Charlotte Edmonds featuring interviews with inspiring women, non-binary dance artists, and industry experts.

The second part of XxooÉ«ÇéƬ Gallery exhibition MADE, featuring works by drawing, painting and ceramics students (hot on the heels of ) will launch in mid-May.

We’ll also see the return of London Craft Week and The Sounds of XxooÉ«ÇéƬ, great opportunities to get a feel for XxooÉ«ÇéƬ’s expertise in the arts – both visual and performed.
